"Freedom and Quality: Monitoring the Media and Countering Disinformation" is the title of a training course organized by BOLD (Bulgarian Organizing for Liberal Democracy).
In the context of human rights theory, the course addresses interconnected themes of media freedom and media quality in order to increase media literacy and society's resilience to disinformation.
Course participants will include civil activists, journalists, human rights activists, as well as anyone interested in media freedom and access to quality information.
Dr. Dimitrina Petrova, an expert in democracy and human rights, will lead a team of experts conducting the training.
Training will take place over two consecutive courses: one from 30.08.2021 to 10.10.2021 and another from 11.10.2021 to 21.11.2021.
It will take the students six weeks and 60 hours of work, 10 hours per week on average, which includes watching video lectures, reading materials, completing interactive assignments, and participating in weekly online interactive webinars. The final exam will consist of an essay on one of three set topics. Certificates will be awarded to successful graduates.
Participants will be selected for this free training based on a cover letter and a CV submitted to BOLD. They encourage those who wish to be trained but are not included in the group of selected students to take part in paid training, which will be organized at a later stage.
